Gravel, large gravel for a good base. Or what we call crusher run, rock dust and gravel. Packs like concrete.

George, Donovan best pass on the buds for another 7 years or so. But that is a good plan!

I put down 8" of slate (shale!??) in 1984 and never saw mud again.

I keep about 5" of pug mill run (local term for unwashed mill run stone) on top of the slate for a nice surface.

I can only work it after a very wet winter, that's a good thing.

In your area your looking for what is called crusher run. Explain that you want something about 2" minus. Here's a link for a producer in your area

If you can find someone that has recycled crushed concrete that also packs very well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
