100 #2
Duke helped me read the serial number on #2. It's an early one. The serial number is in the 71,000's. I can't remember the last three digits. I'll have to get my better half to read it for me. I'm pretty stoked, that #2 is an early 100!

According to the chart it was made in Dec 63. They only came out in Aug of 63.

Does it have the large battery box? wasnt that a sign of an earlier tractor?

Same year as my O ...I'll have to go get the SN again and see what month. Speaking of which, wonder if the models overlapped in the factory, or whether they quit one mode, retooled and restarted the new?

I have been wondering about the overlap between the 2,my 70 has a serial # of 65692,If they were I would think they would be a mixup of serial #s
Duke, The front axle is also thinner.

As a teaser, my Book, 50 yrs of Cub Cadet says the venerable old model 70 serial numbers started with 65458 in Aug 1963 and the Original was produced up till Aug 63. I am told that they had a production line of about 60 machines and I can imagine that on a model change they just finished up the very last of the previous model and began with the new one. With all the different models that they produced they had lots of practice. If you do not already have a copy of Oscar Wills book 50 yrs of Cub Cadet you should seriously consider getting a copy as it is not only a great read but an invaluable reference book. I just received mine as a birthday gift. He also wrote one 45 yrs of Cub Cadet but it is out of print now so if you have that it is already a collectors item.
