Default How prevalent are the 38" 190-400-100 Tillers?

I wish I would have bought one in 1990 with the 1541. I understand to use it also requires the 190-389 3 Point Hitch? I have only seen one photo of one of them. I would imagine they carry a hefty price? The three point hitch isn't cheap. It's not something I need or really have a use for but would be kind of neat to have or restore one.

Thanks

Ace...

I can't find a tiller image

I think those are rare. I had a guy at an auction house tell me they sold one for $150 and he wasn't sure I wanted one. I almost left a knot on his head.

I sold mine last year for 500. It needed fresh paint but other than that it was in great shape. I know that there is one on craigslist about a hour north of me. I think he is asking about 500 as well. The pic I saw it was in a little worse shape than the one that I had sold.

They are out there if you look.

Ace, I know from talking to Todd aka Oak cub related stuff is hard to find in your area and what comes up is going to cost ya. Good luck with your search. Todd's been known to pull some deal stuff and deals from there from time to time.

There is s dealer not terribly far from me. I buy hydraulic fluid and some parts from him. He has never seen one.

With a wedding coming on buying a tiller would be used to till a spot in the yard and till me under. :-) I will keep looking. I have seen used and new three point hitches. I am no sure of the average price for used vs new.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
