Default New Guy

Hey guys:

I'm not sure how I didn't find this site before, now but I found it now and I already love it. I have 3 cubs, 2 - 482 pulling tractors, and a 1862 that I just got that is the work tractor. I also have a ss16 sears with a Briggs and Stratton 18hp that is a worker too. I am also on MTF and recognize some of your screen names from there (thats how I found this site) so Hi guys...hope i dont get in trouble for that

Thanks guys,

This is the only picture I have of the 1862 so far, don't worry I will get more when the snow hits or the next time I use it and remember to take pictures. I have pictures of the pullers but there not the best since there tucked away for the winter, and the one I am still working on. Just to clear things up the pullers are not the factory 4 speed peerless transmissions, there were converted to the 3 speed gear drive but the frame is the 482 I still wanted them to be correct for the model number so that's what I call them. They were both already converted when I got them for those who are cringing for me defacing a good 482, cause I know you don't see many of them, or at least I don't I have only seen one factory 482. A little story you will like that I forgot about, the 1862 I saved it from being sold to a person who was going to part it out and the only thing wrong with it was the motor needed new oil seals, The reason I got it was the guy didn't want to sell it to some one who was going to part out a perfectly good tractor so he sold it to me cause he new I was going to fix it and use it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
