Angry Clutch replacement on a 1200

trying to replace clutch and drive plate. following instructions in service manual all thats needed is to remove flex coupling, hanger assembly and pivot pin and the clutch shaft should be able to be removed.

i still don't have enough slack in shaft to slide to the side to remove.

my question is do i have to loosen or remove engine bolts to get the slack I need?

From my experiences I always remove the engine bolts and slide engine forward a little and driveshaft will come out so much easier.

loosened engine block bolts and the got the clutch shaft out by removing the drive shaft coupling roll pin and sliding forward. Once removed I noticed the Hub Assembly pilot worn out. so now I will replace the hub assy., ball bushing, clutch plate, drive plate and teaser spring....

Good thing you caught the worn out pilot. That will make for a nice new tight drive shaft set up once you get it all done.
