There is an internal "O" ring that goes bad after the years.

I'm sure this has been asked before but, can they be rebuilt by us or is there something special you need. I know that LJ Fluid is the place to get new ones.

I had a valve rebuilt about 6 months ago, seats/seals redone by a guy in Ohio, for around $50. He split it apart, cleaned/machined/replacing seals and seats then I think he spots or resistance welds them back together? Very satisfied with results/$. He had this service on ebay, but haven't seen it, as of late? I could contact him and ask if he still does this service? If interested?
Good luck, Dick |

I know of people that have repaired them. The question I have and it never has been answered.
When these people weld the cap back on, how do they protect the heat from compromising the "O" they just replaced..??? ![]() After all, Sundstrand did NOT weld the cap on when they manufactured it, they crimped it on. I am with Duke, for the money, one might as well get a new one then one does not have to worry if that "O" was compromised.

From what I saw, he tigs them and keeps them wrapped in a wet rag.
That will work as he is using a small tack weld. L.J. fluid power has a price increase since the '09 posting. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
