I finally found time to work on the Cadet 109 I bought about a month ago. I got it from a guy who said it didn't run, because the points were bad. I drained the old gas out of it, both the tank and Carb. bowl. Pulled the Point cover off thay looked fine gap seamed ok. I installed a new Battery and pulled the plug. the plug was carboned up. I cleaned and regaped it, layed it aginst the block and tried the ignition, Iseamed to have good spark. I reinstalled the plug, Pulled the choke out tried the ignition and had one pop, pushed in the choke, tried the ignition again, she started right up,and smoother out to a steady run. Here are some pictures of me taking her taking her for a test spin.IMG00913.jpg

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
