Default another new guy from CT

I inherited a 1200 cub from my father in law .he bought it new I think in 78. I restored it and am using it to mow lawn and will be using it this winter for the snow. I am having a few issues with the electric clutch. drawing too many amps blowing fuses. I checked coil with ohm meter and it is going to ground. It gets worse after it gets hot.I adjusted the air gap,No help. I looked up the clutch part# on cub cadet site I have a ogura clutch model#MA-GT-2(Silver in color) They also have a warner clutch cub says the parts are IH61313-C92 and IH-61313-C93. Wagner makes a clutch that is suppose to fit both these part # but I called and they said it may not fit it is warner 5208-23.Its $250If any one could help it would be gratly apprecciated.I was a search and resue crew chief and flight engineer On h34 h53 and h46 helicopters I also was a helicoter mechanic in the servise. when I got out I went into the auto repair buisness and have been doing that all my life. I also was a voulenter fire fighter and the chief engineer fo 30 years. I recently retired asbestos issues . well enough about me ,I hope some one can help me wit this cluch . I spent 2 days on the computer and got no were.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
