Default 1981 Power King 2418

Here's a tractor I picked up yesterday. It has been restored minus the seat. It looks far better than it does in the pics. It came with a plow, disc, potato plow, weight box, front push blade, and two mower decks. It runs like a top and is a horse! The hydraulic lift works perfectly. It's not a cub but it's pretty cool, also considering I've only got $700 in it Sorry for the picture quality they were taken on my junky cell phone cam.

What engine is in that powerking? I swear that I see a Kohler air cleaner on it. It certainly looks identical to what is on my Quietline 1200.

Yes it's got only one cylinder. I wonder how rare that motor is?

I think on something the size of a cub cadet it would be a shaker, but on a tractor the size off this Power King there is no abnormal shaking or vibration.

I will post some better pics next week. These pictures do the tractor no justice at all. The fellow I got it from really did a great job restoring it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
