To all cub cadet 1250 owners, new to site so forgive my lack of knowledge about cub cadets. Just purchased a cub 1250 and am not exactually sure how to interrupt serial # as I have tried to find out year manufactured with # on tractor (20506304616794) and so far have gotten "0" information. Someone out there HELP! please. Thanks Rusty t

Where you located in NC? I'm sure someone with that can read the production numbers better then you and I will give you answer soon.

rusty,

I'm going to guess that you put a "4" where there should have been a "U" making the numbers you read off your plate:

2050630U616794

Double-check that for accuracy. If that's the case, the last six digits will give your your date of manufacture, found here at OCC.

616794 would correspond to a manufacture date of October, 1977. The serial number in each box is the last number manufactured for that month.

Actually the opposite.... Each box is the first serial number started of each month.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
