Default What's a #2 IH cart worth, Now I own a #2 Cart!!!!!

I have found a IH #2 cart for sale locally, it looks good in the pics, has a little rust on it, but no areas rusted through. The seller is wanting $75 for it. I am not familiar with these trailers, at present I can't post a pic of it, but from other pics I have seen, it looks like a #2. While asking questions, is there a tag located on them somewhere telling what exactly it is, like the mower decks do? Any info or pics to help me figure out what I am looking at it. Thanks!

I just found another posts about trailers, the one I am looking at dumps, does that make it a number 4? The dump latch mechanism is mounted on the tongue, it has fenders that set over the tires, the tires are outboard of the trailer itself, heck I have no idea what it is.....HELP!

Sound like a #2 to me, and at $75 you should jump all over it! Here's a picture of a #2 I had.

That is what it looks like, I hope it is still available, it was on CL, the ad has been pulled. I spoke to the seller 2 days ago, said he wasn't available until Saturday morning to show it...I told him I wanted it and would call Friday evening to set up a time to come by. I hope he pulled the ad for me since I told him I wanted it, but there is no honor among CL sellers, will call him as we agreed and see what happens!

Go for it, Jeff! Mine has more rust, but isn't rusted through. You're getting a great deal at $75. I paid $125 for mine.

Just from what I have seen on here, I figured that was a good price. I called the seller earlier this evening, will be going to look at it in the morning....if I get it, I will post up some pics!

Default I got the #2 cart bought!!!!

I met with the seller today and was able to get the #2 cart bought for $50! It is a little rough, has one original tire (looks original, is a Goodyear with an odd ball size 4.30-8) and one wheel barrow tire, both fenders are bent, a few dents here and there, but the best part is it is solid with only surface rust. Here are some pics of it!

over all pics front and rear

002.jpg003.jpg

Bent fenders, one is bent on the front, the other on the back...should be easy enough to straighten out.

I did not know they had stake pockets, I can already envision some oak bedside extensions!

This one has a tailgate that sets between 2 pieces of angle iron welded to the bed and the tailgate slides out the top, is this factory correct? It also has the remnants of IH decals centered on the front of the front side of the bed and the center of the back side of the tailgate....again, is the correct locations for the decals? Thanks, enjoy the pics!

I did not to let this out until I got it bought, but I was lucky to find it....out of boredom one evening was looking at CL and found an ad that was entitled "lawn wagon, $75.00", to my suprise upon reading the ad and seeing the one pic attached to it, I knew I had stumbled upon an actual IH #2 cart (at least that was what I believed it was), in the pic you could just faintly make out the remnants of the IH decal on the tailgate. When I met with the owner today, I commented on the bent fenders and mismatched tires, he said make an offer, so I said how about $50.00, he immediately said sold...I should have offered less, but was willing to pay the asking price!

Nice deal on the cart for 50$. Deals like that I wouldn't waste any time. Really all that matters is that you think it is a good deal. Of course there is the coolness factor when you get it all straightened up and painted. I have been around cubs along time and have never seen a IH cart. Must be they all rotted out in Central NY or not a lot were sold around here. Congrats and Jealous

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
