k301 issues
so it was a puffer...
then started to mow since i got some of my parts / belts... and thought the idle was to slow... idled it up a bit... nothing crazy... but enough to make the grass get thrown and not be a puffer O  anyway... after mowing for a bit... it just kinda killed off and stopped it was late so i just put fuel in it... figuring i was lowish. mowed 2 passes and it did it agian. now its puffing alot of black smoke out. and wont idle up high at all... just puffs like its gonna die etc etc etc. it did shoot a nice flame out the exhaust the last time it died. what could be some culrpits here??? im thinking it may need a rebuild? if not i may be taking it to the mech and let him mess around with it. thanks for any info.

fuel float stuck open? Old, clogged air filter? Something is choking it to a very rich fuel mix.

yep. Its inside the bowl at bottom of carb. Held on by the nut on bottom. Float is held in by a hinge pin- you can visually see the needle move with the float at that point. There is a measured setting for the float to seat the needle, but off my head cannot remember.
