Welcome to OCC! Glad to have you! If you have 100's, they were made between 63-65. Also, if you're looking for a mower deck, please post a wanted ad, in the Wanted Items section of the site.

I believe I have heard others mention these symptoms before, if I remember correctly they stated the problem was most likely a bad condensor, or it could be a bad coil.

Keep your pants on, someone will chime in soon enough with some insight to your problem (some folks have to work you know....LOL)!

Oh, and by the way welcome to the site, you will find alot of useful material on here, check out the manuals section, you should be able to download a manual for your tractor, and the kohler engine...they are great for looking up how to maintain and repair you cub!

Sounds like a coil but a hour is a long time for it to shut off. You can try the coil from the other 100 and see if that helps it.

Follow Allen's advice and place a want ad in the wanted section of the site and you'll have alot better results.

Is the fuel tank vented? Try and loosen the cap and see if that helps.

Try a new condenser also. Make sure the points are clean and fresh. Some light sandpaper can clean them up. They could have some buildup.

I had a JD that would do the same thing and it was the coil in it (I know....I'm embarassed to admit it, but I owned one at one time....haha). However, the others have given you some great advice already that would also help make sure that it runs fine. You may also want to trace your wiring, if it has been spliced anywhere, it might be losing contact as it heats up through expansion....this also happened on the wire to my condensor on my JD. LOL (Lots Of Luck!)

We don't need them all polished up to see them, everyone appreciates a hard working cub!!!

Okay I checked my wires nothing . I changed and cleaned the coil . And when I shut it off I noticed a gurgling sound .. come to find out the gas in tank is boiling .. it has a non stock muffler on it .. would that cause it to boil the gas ?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
