Default WOT won't stay adjusted
I have set WOT to 3600 rpms on my 1450. After I throttle down and then throttle up again, WOT has decreased to 1640 rpms with nothing engaged and tractor stationary. Sometimes it takes working the throttle several times before this happens, sometimes it happens the 1st time I throttle down. As I know this may happen, I'm not usinging excessive force on the throttle or slapping the throttle wide open or shut. The throttle cable housing is moving forward thru the clamp that holds the throttle and choke cables. I have the screw in the clamp as tight as I can get it. Locktite the screw? Any ideas how to stop this? It's a pain to have to adjust WOT every time it decreases.

It sounds like to me, that you have some "sticky" linkage somewhere.

All linkage is well lubed, can't see anything binding. I removed the throttle cable and lubed it. Still have the same problem. Maybe the cable housing is too long?

If the cable housing is moving in the clamp, you won't be able to get WOT. Take the clamp apart and bend so it will be tight and not move.

Neighbor, (retired mech), came over for a look/see. He cut 10 wraps off the throttle cable housing, (it was used and I'm not sure what model Cub Cadet tractor it came off), and using a center punch, put several dimples in the clamp and housing. Throttle stays @ 3600 rpms now.
