Default Is this a good deal?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Kohler-K161-7hp-...10121800222229

I have everything to rebuild it, just need the block.

I had a block and had a guy to start working on it and he said it was an older kholer, pre k161 and was 6.5 or 6.7 hp.

I've dealt a lot with Joe's and most of the time his prices pretty good. However, I have seen complete engines w/PTO, gas tank, air filter, the works go for around $100.

What is your 7 hp for?
There was one for an original without the dip stick tube, and one with it for the 70,71,71,73 models. Also there is a different bore on the early 7 hp ones.

I think he means that the early original 7hp had a different bore then the later O's had. Well that's how I read it so maybe Lew will help clear this up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
