Default 149 Sees Action

Here's my "Summer" tractor. Equiped with a 38" deck, I sharpened the blades yesterday while it was raining in Central Ohio.

Last night the weather finally broke, and the lawn dried enough today to run the mower.

Great-looking 149, Sharky! I may be a bit biased, though. haha
You're in central Ohio, and I'm in NE part of the state. It was a much nicer day today, eh? I didn't get much seat time on my Cubs this weekend, as I spent most of my time getting my Grizzly 660 ready for a weekend ride in WV this weekend.
Do you use your 149 for anything besides mowing? I've cut my lawn one time, but still a bit wet yet. I agree with Chip....looks like your photos could be in a brochure. Thanks for sharing.

[QUOTE=Mooner;68701]Do you use your 149 for anything besides mowing?/QUOTE]

The tractor in the photos is used for mowing only. I have a second 149, I call my Winter Tractor. The Winter tractor is equiped with a 42-inch snow blade and rear wheel weights. It also has a rear-lift sleeve hitch. I have a 10-inch brinley mold board plow for it, But I have not used it yet.

I hope to find time to re-paint the Winter tractor this year, as the weather warms up here in Ohio.

Thanks to all for the nice comments!

Me too! Then I had to check out the car in the background to verify. SWEET "summer" tractor. Any chance your going to share your "winter" tractor with us? Hey, just wondering.....how much you have to pay your wife to take pictures of you working??

Actually.....if you look hard enough....you can see the "WINTER" tractor in the shadows....in the garage!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
