Default 123 is here!!!

Picked up my 123 tonight, needs one more hour of work to run. It looks good, has a tiller, both extensions, spring assist, wheel weights inside the wheels, and a 38 inch deck. Steering Is ok, seat isn't. Fuel tank is beyond all hope, but I have a QL tank on it now. NF guys know the hood won't close with that tank in there, so will that tank fit in my 149 or 128 so I can use their tank in the 123? I'll let you guys know when I get her running!

Tyler,

The 123 will be a nice addition to your growing collection.....and it looks to be a rather nice collection at that!!! If you get a chance to look at the history of the 123, particularly the photos of the little circus act that they used to do with them, then I think you will find it kind of interesting, especially seeing them jump the 123's!!! Amazing how they would go 8.5 mph and my 2008 zero turn will max out at 8.5 mph!!! Enjoy your newest member to your collection.
Here's to our Canadian Partners!!!

Tyler,

Here are some pictures, but I forget where I read about it at. They used to travel around and demonstrate the reliability of the new hydrostatic transmission. So, they painted up some cubs and ran them around in a circus act, moving forward and backward with the greatest of ease. Note the little ears on top of the cubs!!!! Enjoy!!!

No pics yet, I have lots, but I don't have time to do anything with them. I got it running, no surprise there. Runs good, smokes a bit (of course) but Is pretty strong. After I got it running I moved it 15 feet before the original coil called it quits. New coil, plug, wire, condenser abd points later, runs good again. Hydro is really strong, with the tiller on the back it does great weelies!!! The only thing I don't like about this tractor Is the ergonomics. I've got a big cut on my right wrist from reaching under the steering wheel to the throttle, then hit a bump and ran my arm along the lift hande. Then I tried to turn to the right, but my knuckle caught the hydro lever and it popped the front tires off while turning, I wasn't expecting it so I bounced off the tiller before I hit the ground. Then I had to catch it. Darn thing moves fast!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
