series 2 kohler kt17 ?
Since I'm not having any luck finding a super I'm looking at a yellow and white 782. This is the motor it has in it, is it a good one? I could've googled it, but it's more fun to ask here!
Also, I want this mower to cut thick, tougher grass around my ponds that's tough to access with a brush mower, will it do the job? Will it work well with a blower? My only Cub experience was with the 100, so this will be a little new. Thanks!

OK so I might be a bit biased, but yeah the 782 is a great machine. The series 2 engine is what everyone looks for. It has an oil pump and most will have an oil filter. The engine will handle whatever you give it. I Love mine.

They are a good motor.I just got 2 782 basket cases over the winter a series 1 and a series 2.The meter on the series 2 reads like over 2500 hrs the key probably was left on more than once,The po said they both ran.I got the series 2 going in a day no smoke,I think this is the original motor on the tractor,by the way I do mean basket cases the floor boards are so rusted you can move your feet and see the ground.Not bad for a 30 year old tractor,and didnt spend a dime to get it going.
