Default 122 issues

OK, I've got a cub cadet 122 that I got from a friend. The carb was bad so I tried to rebuild but the brass bolt on the bottom was stripped. So I got another from a shop. It runs great, but from the bottom of the tank and around the glass bowl, fuel is just draining out. Are there any gaskets or anything that I can do to stop it?

Thanks for you help.

If you are referring to the sediment bowel then yes you can replace the gaskets on it.

Or remove it and install a 90 degree outlet with a valve on it. If you would rather a sediment bowl, a common o ring should work

Lucas,
Yeah, nothing like a sediment bowel heheheheh
I think he is taking about the bowl, but then again they are related...
Are you saying that the tank is leaking above the bowl? If it is it can be one of two things to look at ,a crack in the tank nipple area, or hole in the bottom of the tank or, the nipple that comes out of the tank could use some Teflon tape on it. Hmmm that's three things.
I would replace the fuel bowl gasket with a cork one, they still have them, bought a few last week, rubber ones will only give you heartache.

thanks for all of the feed back i was talking about the sediment bowl and from around the nipple on the bottom of the tank there are no cracks in the bottom of the tank. i think ill just put a bead of sealant around the base of the tank. do cork gaskets work just as good as rubber gaskets?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
