Default PICS!! 108 & Just Bought 129

Hello everyone!!
Got some new pics of my 108 with dozer blade

And pictures of the 129 I bought on C-List. Got to get it put back together and try to get it running. I think the silanoid (sp) may be bad as it does not click and rest of tractor may need some "tuning" up. Who knows yet. Came with mower deck and I also know front PTO clutch was already removed so it needs replaced, plus many other pieces I believe.

Friend of the kid that I bought 129 from and his father have alot of Cubs and attachments and guess what??? THEY HAVE A QA-42A that they will sell me!!! YEA for me!!!!

Take care all and enjoy!!
John

John, great score on the 129. That will be a very solid tractor for you when you get it put back together and collecting the pieces can be fun and exciting. That's also a very good looking 108!! I think you'll get more use out of the blade year round than the QA42A. It's nice to have both!!! Thanks for sharing those pics....

plans are, hopefully, to get me one more unit of some kind, keeping eyes open for good deals.
Like to have one for dozer blade, one for mowing (planning on selling my troy junk) and one for snow blowing. dont like to have to take off and put things on all the time. Much eazyer for a lazy person like me to just hop on the one i want to use...hehehehhe

take care and thanks!!

What is that on the rear of the 129? I know it cant possibly be a rear pto shaft but it almost looks like one. Maybe it is just some grease but I gotta ask. Them kinda things catch my eye.

Nice find. Just got to wondering tho, every pic I see of a 108 shows wide front tires. Mine has the 400-8s. Haven't figured that out.

fisherman1526---on the rear end of that 129 is a piece of steel pipe and an elbow. i am wondering if preown used it as a fill tube for the rear end as the lower three bolts seem to be out little bit. Have not gotten into this yet to find anything out yet. Just got it and was too cold to stand outside and work on it right now as my 2 car garage is packed full of stuff, like my 108, troy junk mower, two lawn boy hobby gardener tillers, big troy bilt (old when they were all nice steel) tiller, tool boxes, push mower, pc monitors, storage cabinets that have not been put up yet, building materials that have not been used yet, radial arm saw, table saw, and who knows what else i have collected and piled into the garage in the last couple years. HAVE to do a Spring Cleanout this year and get everything organized as the hopes and plans are to purchase more cubbys and who knows what else i come across.hehehehheh.

108cubber--- wide front is what mine had when i got it. dont know bout yours. i think maybe the wide was stock and someone changed yours, but do not quote me on that at all as I have no idea. maybe someone with alot more info and knowlege than me will have your answer.

Everyone else----thanks for the comments. listen to all!! cannot wait to figure out why the 129 is not turning over and get it fixed. these old cubs seem pretty darn ez to work on and simple too.

Thank you all!! Great days and fun to you!!!
take care
John

The narrow front tires were standard on a 108...the wider ones were optional, and that seems to be what most 108s were equipped with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
