Is the rear lift (IHCC 3pt) the same on all wide frames, or is the Quietline series different? I just picked up my grandpa's old 1250, and it needs a rear lift for my tiller. I know, I know, I'll get some pics up soon

They are the same, with the exception of the 82 series. The 82 series uses two Frankenstein mounting bolts to hold the cast lift onto the tractor at the top. The 1x8/1x9, and QL series use a 5/8 rod all the way thru the cast lift. Also the Lift bar is going to be different between the 82 series and the other wf's.

The later QL tractors also use the frankenstein bolts.

Matt is correct. I took the hitch off my 1282 that required frankenstein bolts and put it on my 1450 which did NOT require frankenstein bolts. If the upper pin slots have spacers welded to the inside of the frame, you won't need them. If it doesn't them you'll need frankenstein bolts and they are pricey.

so if need be I can put the lift from my 1450 on the 1250 until I get the 1450 running. Gonna need a motor rebuild, ignition switch, pto switch, and possibly neutral safety switch. Would like both running before next winter to put the blade on one, and the thrower on the other.

If you need Frankenstein bolts don't buy them from whoever is selling them, I can make them up quite a bit cheaper than others sell them for. Please give me some advanced notice though, I'm terribly behind right now.

My 149 has the bushings welded in but came with no lift, at some point I want to install the lift to the tractor...but, how do you get it in there? there is no hole for the rod to slide through, both ends where the bushings are welded have no hole to slide the shaft through...do you loosen everything up in the rear, spread the frame rails and install the shaft for the lift arm, or do you drill out on side or the other (maybe both?) to install the shaft? I don't know how it works, a little insight would be helpful...thanks!

westofb,
A picture would be great. Where your bushings are welded to the frame there should be holes in the frame there. I usually pull one tire off and run the shaft through a hole in the inner fender to install the 3 point. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
