Has anyone had trouble driving out the camshaft pin to remove the camshaft from the block?

John once the pin exits the pto side of the block it usually comes out pretty easy. I have only had one give me some grief and that was because the pin was slightly bent.

Thanks for the information Cubs-n-bxrs! I hope mines not bent. It did have some rust in the holes of the block so I shot them with wd-40 hoping it helps.

WD-40 isn't going to do anything because it isn't a penetrating oil. Get some Kroil or PB Blaster...

I have never used penetrating oil to remove a cam pin. A nice size drift punch and a good ball peen hammer and it will come right out.

Just use some PB blaster and tap on it with a hammer.

Did two last week. Proper punch and a small 3lb hammer. No problem.

It's basically aerosol Kerosene. It's meant to displace water and keep things from rusting, which it does work pretty good for. It is also handy for degreasing stuff. It claims to be a penetrant, this is BS from my experience. Tried it a couple times for that, and it didn't do anything. PB blaster, Liquid Wrench, Kroil, etc. actually work as advertised.

While the ingredients in WD-40 are secret, we can tell you what WD-40 does NOT contain. WD-40 does not contain silicone, kerosene, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or any known cancer-causing agents."

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
