Default Might try this

Hey Appalachian edge;
Have you checked the fluid level? You might want to change the fluid and filter as a start. Not much of an answer but with a profile picture such as yours I felt I "had to" offer some advice.

The relief valves for the transmission may also be stuck. That model had the manual relief valves, so the little button on the top may be stuck pushed in. You can remove the tunnel cover and look in there to see if the buttons pop up.

There is a roll pin or steel dowel in the drive coupler that shears off sometimes.....

I'm with everyone else...check the drivehaft roll-pin, relief valves, fluid level, linkages...I bet its a stuck relief valve(s). Take em out, spray em down real good with your favorite penetrating oil, soak em good and try to work the buttons up and down.

Let us know what you find

If it is below freezing, it is possible that there is moisture in the sump and it froze, starving the charge pump so no hyd fluid will flow.
And/or the filter is moisture laden and froze.
Warm it up good and see what happens, you will have to warm it anyway to get a good flush of fluid.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
