Default 1250 lift height

On my 1250 with hydro lift, the QA42A only comes up about an 1" off the ground. How do I verify that I am getting full lift height with this. If I remember when the plow was on , it would lift it maybe 4" or so.

I'd say that the lift rod is probably too long. You can verify this by removing the tunnel cover and looking to see how much the rock shaft moves before the QA42 starts to lift. If you use a length of chain or cable in place of the solid rod you can adjust the length to get the full amount of lift.

The pivot on the side that the rod mounts to will move all the way back when the rod is disconnected. When I put the rod on , it stops half way back. This is the pivot by the right foot rest , not sure what its called. The pivot is all the way forward when it is down , so in my mind , shortening the rod would not let it go down fully. Maybe I am not thinking correctly . I will have to check it out again, thanks for the idea.

Sounds like you have a sheared spirol pin in the rockshaft.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
