Hydro fan position on 1650
I changed the cork gasket on my 1650 hydro the other night and noticed that there was no fan on the drive shaft. I picked one up at my local dealer but I am not exactly sure where it should be positioned on the shaft?

Run the hydraulic lift cylinder all the way up (cylinder extended) and then place the fan such that it doesn't hit part of the rockshaft or the hydraulic lines or anything else. It needs to be fairly close to the rear rag joint, but not hitting anything. Perhaps the service manual tells you where it should go. Take a look there.

Manual says the fan should be 1-1/8" in front of the forward face of the coupling arm (the thing the rag disc bolts to), with the slotted part of the center hub facing forward. Don't forget to replace the Circlip that holds the fan in place. You have to slide it on the shaft before you slide the fan on. It goes in place over the slots in the center hub of the fan. There's no groove or anything, it just slips in place over the slots. If you don't put that clip in place, the fan will eventually work its way forward and hit stuff. Then you'll be doing it all over again. I reused the clip from the old fan, but I saw the other day that Lowe's had them as well.
