Default Any antique radio collectors on here?

Hello all!

I was wondering if there were any antique or vintage radio collectors out there! I'll start by showing mine...

1940 Philco 40-180

1949 Philco 49-909

And my Zenith Transoceanic...

If it's stuck and needs loosening, use the WD-40.

If it's loose and it's suppose to be stuck, use the duct tape.

Cool radios! I have an old Victor Victrola..does that count?..lol

It has a beautiful bood cabinet with the speaker in the front behind doors that open up. Cool crank handle on the side to wind it up... it works good, but doesnt sound all that great..I think it needs a tune up :biggrin2.gif:

Hello camarokidz28,
Well not exactly antique... I collect High-End ALPINE equipment.
I have two 7618R head units only made for the overseas market
also two 7909 solid brass head units.

Your machines look cool!!! How do they sound?
Nice side hobby.....

I'm Not a collector of them but do have a Philco 40 - 180 like your first picture. It was at the curb with somebodys trash so I stopped and brought it home. That was 33 years ago.

I myself collect antique clocks ...... 120 in my collection at this time. About 85 of them are pre 1900 and go back as far as the 1820's which are all hand carved wood work movements.

I also have a box of tubes for these old radio/TV's ........ maybe 30 to 40 tubes. Let me know a number if you ever need one, I might have it. Some of them are new and some are old ....... just like we get our cub parts.

DY - I'm not a collector per se, but I've got: (sorry no pics right now)

A working Zenith TransOceanic exactly like yours pictured.
( Aren't they about 1951 - 52 vintage?)

A working '50s Zenith Flip Front tabletop

A non working '40s Zenith tabletop with the old "Model 299" outline stitched into the speaker fabric ( The 299 was the prototype of the B17 Flying Fortress)

A '40s Zenith phonograph/radio combo

A couple of working '50s RCA tabletops

I think I have a couple others but I don't remember right now.

I love swing and '30's jazz so I bought a small AM transmitter (1/4 mi range) to hook my ipod to and play my music from my own "Radio station" over all of the radios - Ya gotta love that old tube hum!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
