Default Easy exhaust brace

Here are a couple pics of a cheap and easy brace I made after reading some of the threads on here. Its a peice of 1/4 x 2 flat iron ran across two head studs , a muffler clamp ( I will get the right size ,t just didn't want to go to store) and a 1/4 inch bolt. I drilled a hole in the clamp ground the head of the bolt down to fit up in the clamp, and ran the bolt up to the brace. I think it will get the job done.

Nice idea do you have any pics of that set up with the hood down and what model tractor is this on? Just built a custom made glass pack muffler/stack for one of my tractors and it is considerably heavier than stock and will require some brace work.

The tractor is a 1x8/9. I can tell that from the pto, QA lever, and cast grille. I took a quick look at my 1650, and by drilling a few holes in the tin on top of the head and adding 2 studs, this could be done on an AQS engine too. This is a very simple design, straightforward and tidy. I like it!
Brucer95 you could probably make those brackets and sell them...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
