Default Darn M18's

Someone told me recently that the magneto's on these m18's rarely go bad. Well in the last month, I have replaced the one in my 582, and now I bought a used engine and the mag appears to be bad in it. No spark on one cylinder even with new Autolite plugs. This is starting to get expensive. I have a couple of used mags laying around but who's to say those are good? Oh well. I guess it's just money!

The 582 & 582S both had B&S motors in them.

The M-18 was introduced in ~1985 or so and yes something that old, may have a failure or two.

Roland I think AJ has an M18 in his 582 that I've seen.

I've had to replace the Mag in several B+S engines over the years. Good part of that is the aren't too expensive and they are outside the flywheel so it's a pretty easy job. Crossing my fingers on my M18.
