Do all rims have the same bolt pattern and are there different offsets? I've been searching but couldn't find a thread on this subject.
I want to get a set of rims to fit the 10.5 rear tires that I'm planning on buying. Is a dealer my only choice. Fill |

All the rims that we have fit each tractor. We have 4 major brand tractors and they all fit each other. All are 5 bolt wheels. I think there is different offsets, but am not completely sure on that one. One way to change the offset is to turn the wheel around. One way will make a narrow tread, and the other way will make a wide tread. Here is a scan from an OT tractor manual. I am not sure about the valve stem thing, but I would guess it is correct.

All CC and many other brands of garden tractors use the 4 1/2 on 5 bolt pattern. I'd look for a set of used rear wheels for your new tires. Other brands use strange offsets that typically don't work on a Cub Cadet.

There are different off sets. But the biggest problem i have found is that all my tractors have the external brakes. The rims with the valve stem on the inner side hit my brakes.

This is why you're better off using only rims meant for a Cub Cadet. I wouldn't spend the money on rims from a different brand of tractor. Save your $$$ for the correct rims when they come along.

Hey Fill!!! How's it going good buddy!!!
I agree with the guys. There are different off sets for the 8.50 inch wheel. You have the Heavy Offset,Zero Offset and the Positive Off set. The Heavy Offset has the Wheel Hub placed toward the very back of the wheel, in result pushing the wheel away from the tractor and it also gives the inside of the wheel a deep dish look to it also. The Zero Offset has the Wheel Hub placed right at the center line of the wheel, in result bringing the wheel closer to the tractor. And the Positive Offset has the Wheel Hub placed right at the very front of the wheel, in result bringing the wheel really close to your tractor. The most popular style of offset that I've noticed being used with these cubs is the Heavy Offset and the Zero Offset. But the choice is totally up to you. You can find these wheels through a good cub dealer or can also get a good used pair for a decent price. But like I said, the choice is totally up to you. Hope this helps in one way or another??? Take care good buddy!!!! ![]() Here's a few pics of my Wheels. The wheels that I use the OL' Girl are 8.50 wide wheels with Wheel Hub placed on the Heavy Offset side. By the way, these wheels were manufactured with the Wheel placed on the Heavy Offset side. They were intended to be used on the Cub Cadet Super Garden Tractor during the time the tractor was being manufactured. I plan on getting another pair of wheels and tires so I can add duals to it. Just for show, not for work. The Deep Dish look. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
