I bought a new Cub Cadet 50" zero turn last month. I ordered the CC mulching kit. The newer CC Zero turns utilize an S blade instead of the traditional star blade mounting hole. The instructions with the kit noted the specific S blade requirement as did the picture on the box showed the S blade. Imagine my surprise when I unwrapped the blades to find star blades included with the kit.
To make a long story short, I have ordered and returned four kits, all with the incorrect blades. After kit number two I called the number provided for their service center only to end up talking with a gentleman from some country across the Atlantic. He was reading a script and obviously had no clue what I was talking about. This was apparent when he offered to give me a local number for a CC service center that will send a tech to my house under warranty. He did however look up my serial number, confirm my mower was built in 2025 and also confirmed that I did need the S blade kit and had been ordering the correct part number kit. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with a CC service rep? Thanks Vic ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
