Dandelions have taken over this clover plot, so it was time to put them under. The ground is hard when dry and very lumpy when wet but today was perfect conditions. In about two weeks, I’ll go over it again just so they know they’re really not welcome.
But I am starting to think I need a gear drive tractor for tilling ![]() |

Great picture. Is that the food plot you planted a while back for
venison? Ken |

Yes, its a food plot for mule deer. Unfortunately bears love dandelions and clover. They especially love it when they can get a mouthful of both in each bite! Way too many and they are like giant racoons that get into everything.

Possibly a Weed-wiper may be better suited to your needs

^^^^ But I’d have to walk to do that.
I have a variety of home made implements to drag around behind me while I sit. Discs, drags, rake and roller. I also have a Brinley plow and tooth cultivator. I think I used them all a couple weeks ago to rejuvenate a couple older plots and work up a couple of little new plots. Even a homemade furrow/hiller for the garden |

If I'm not mistaken, Greg Norman was great with a Weed-Wiper, playing out of the rough as he usually was.

Now as to the Weed wiper you can get an arm/boom to hang of your mower/tractor that has weed killer gravity fed pads on the underside and as the name implies it wipes the weeds Voila weeds dead Oz

Very little regrowth was showing since the first assault, but I tilled it again, ran the drag over it, rolled it and then over it again with the harrow to prep for clover seed. I’ll let it settle, then seed and cover just before the next rain.

So will that clover germinate and be ready for the fall hunt?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
