Default Hello from Tennessee

Hello,

I have a CC 1000 that my father purchased new in 1976. It was used to mow a rough two acre yard for the better part of 30 years. It has lasted through the use of me, my two brothers and my sister as we were growing up during that time. Not to mention my dad who used it up till about 4 years ago. It finally quit due to engine, clutch and deck wear. It has been sitting idle in barn waiting for someone to revive it. I have finally reached a point in my life where I have the resources and time to restore it. I am very excited about bringing it back to life in as good or better condition than it ever was.

I am sure I will have many questions during this process. I guess I will start a thread to post my progress, questions and pics along the way.

I have retrieved some old Kodak pics from the family albums and have them scanned. I also took several pics of it after getting it out of the barn, removing the deck and washing it off.

I noticed in some of the threads that some pics show up in the message while others seem to be attached and have to be clicked on to view them. Here are my first questions, which way is the preference and what are the tricks to post pics either way ?

Thanks,
Tony

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
