LTX1050T. When I mow there is always a longer strip of grass in the center of the deck. Long grass or short. Blades are sharp and not installed upside down. Belt is newer and in good shape. Would the condition of my deck wheels hae any effect on the center blade cut? The rear wheels are seemingly in fair condition. The The front round wheels are worn almost flat. The center roller turns freely. Come to think of it, maybe the round (now flat) wheels are worn so that they make the front roller take more of the deck weight. But then again shouldn't the front roller be allowed to touch the ground since it IS a wheel? Any ideas?

Is your deck tight set correctly? Most mowers have an able they are designed to cut at typically the front is lower than the back. Additionally, most mowers those wheels are anti-scalp wheels and are not designed to ride on the grass nor should they. Every cub cadet product that I have seen requires running at wide open throttle for best performance. The last thing I can think of is, if you’re ground speed is too high your mower will not perform correctly either.

Found the problem. Deck was bent at the spindle mounting holes causing blade to not be level, probably from when I broke a previous spindle when I hit an obstacle. Found the solution on this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BdllqplWsk
Didn't need the big tool shown as the metal is not that thick. I used a short straight edge across the surface to verify the bend. I placed a block of wood under the bend and wacked it with a hammer. Pretty simple fix. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
