I know this was spoken of before and Sam Mac posted a picture of one. A real nice reinforced offset link. I need one because I sheared the welds on the rockshaft and after rewelding the cam end of the rockshaft 3 or 4 times I have now lost registration between the two points for lifting the Hayban snow blade. When this happens it requires a different length tube or rod betwween the plow and rockshaft. I've had three tubes made thus far. I hope this makes sence.
I'm handicaped now and can't do much (can't walk or stand long) to fabricate a link or tube but I have a couple of men from my church that are willing to help. I was able to crawl onto the 1872 to mow my yard all Summer long and I would like to plow snow from my drive this Winter. I can install the Hayban on another 1872 but I don't want to break any more welds so adding the link is important to that end. Thanks for any help, Steve |

What blade and tractor are we referring to here?
A model 401 by chance? A picture and/or copy of parts page would be quite helpful here. I have a #401 and it will live on my 2082 this winter. Are you talking either one of these 2 rectangular brackets that bolt to each side of the frame here?? I have both styles available |

I guess I was clear as mud, my apology.
Quote:
The link I'm after is maybe 1" wide x 1/4" thick and about 3"-4" long with an offset midway. It serves to tie two points on the rockshaft together so that the roll pins and weld work together to prevent the weld from shearing. I will look some more for the picture Sam Mac posted of it. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
