Default ?'s about a K241 head on a K301
Just wondering what are some advantages and/or disadvantages of putting a high compression/LP head from a K241 on a K301?

You will really raise the compression. I have this combo on my puller but run higher octane fuel. I think a better combo is a 14hp head with the plug offset instead of centered and mill the head .030". You will have more hp but still be able to run regular gas.

Just my .o2 for what its worth.

I have a 14hp head with the offset plug on my 124 plow tractor. I milled about .045" off the head. The thing is a real bear. Makes nice horsepower.

I agree with both on using head with the sparkplug offset over the exhaust valve. You will get a better burn because of the open space in the head that's between the valves. I change a few things in my 100's motor. The head and the cam were two of the changes to K241. So far I like the power band.
