Go for it. I don't know what to tell you to offer, Start low. Not so low as to insult, but you can always up your offer :biggrin2.gif:

Not sure of value, but when someone says make an offer................... Well, they asked for it. I hate it when someone wants me to put a price on what they have. Make a low ball offer and then you will get his true price and go from there. As many others will probably say, it's worth what you are willing to pay and he is willing to accept.
Take a quick look on ebay or CL and see what others are asking, that may give you an idea of value, but just because they are asking that doesn't mean that is what it is worth or sold for.
It comes down to how bad you want it and what you are willing to pay.

Well said Cub 149. If this is what you have been waiting for and you are happy with it, then treat yourself as Diz Jr. stated, "Go for it." You only live once and over the long run (another 50+ years) for the original, the $$ will not matter if you can spare it at this time!! Just post some pics for us to see it when (if) you decide to get it. Good luck in your negotiations!!

Default Have you seen it in person??

If so how good is the paint job? Have you heard it run, drove it around? If the paint is recent and done well and runs good I start @ $400. $250 if paint not decent. Just my !

Did you go look at it or just talk to him on the phone. If it's the same ad I saw listed just a little bit ago, the reason I didn't call was that make me an offer line. But if it's what you are looking for make him a low offer and see what he says. Good luck, let us know what you decide.

$400 of an CCO?

I'm not into Originals, just don't like them. But, with that said, if that's what you want, don't low ball him as you don't want to insult the seller of something you want. I know a guy who wanted a 100, but he low-ball the seller. The seller pretty much told him he will never get it and to leave. And the seller sold it to someone else for just a few bucks more, just because the first guy low ball him and not only insulted him, but made the seller mad.

Check around for prices on other Originals, and then just come in under that. You don't want to antagonize the seller, but you don't want to pay too high either.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
