He also has an option kit with replacement pulleys to use a half inch belt but that is temporarily out of stock.

I used to have some Ariens 1/2" x 145" belts. Still available from Ariens 07200023 $70.00
You still need the pulleys though...

I put a tiller on my 782. I had no idea what belt.
Put the tractor with gearbox on the trailer and went to my local NAPA
B146 was too short. The next belt they had in stock that seemed reasonable was a B159. It was too long. I ordered a B156 and two days later it fit perfectly

I am not seeing the parts I used all were meant for the 782.

What I am saying is my local NAPA auto store is staffed with gearheads that love little side projects where you do not have instructions to follow

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
