Default price/ouch

laphant;

I don't know what part of Mo. you are in, but around Rolla that would be high.
Maybe cause we're all poorboys here.
I do see cubs selling higher in other places though, on ebay

My Opinion

I agree, that does seem a little high.

If you wait long enough you can find one cheaper, at least out where I am, I see setups like that listed on craiglist for $300-400. I picked up my 102 without a deck for $150, but that was a great deal. You just gotta be patient and check craigslist often.

Yaa.... But garage kept, that make a lot of difference somtimes.
Does it have a creeper or sleeve hitch it would be well worth it with either.
No matter what the price I always still try to do a little talking.

The garage kept status of that 102 does help with the pricing, but I would try to hit more in the ballpark of $400 for it and see if he is interested. If not, then you could leave your name and number in case he changes his mind!!

Welcome to OCC.

What part of Missouri are you from? I'm about 60 miles south of St. Louis.

Anyways, that price is high, regardless if it was garage kept or not. It might help some with the price, but for a tractor with just a mower deck, I say $400-450 tops. I got my 104 back in 2009 and it was always garage kept and I paid the asking price of $275. Also it would help to gauge a price range if we had pictures.

Again, welcome.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
