Default Fuel in oil

I have a Cadet XT1. Yesterday I found a ton of fuel in the oil. I know a bad needle/seat can cause oil to leak past the carb into the oil. I removed the carb and tested the needle/seat and found it to be sealing tight.
The day it happened it got really hot,,,, 100*,,,, Is it possible the seat is good but the rise it temp was just to great and over rode the needle/seat?

I know installing a fuel shutoff valve would help.

IF this engine has a fuel pump, it could leak fuel into the crankcase.

I'm pretty sure the newer ones can't leak in the crankcase (not mechanical pumps).

OP -- what engine? Kohler 7000? Courage? "CC"? Kawi?

it is a Courage SV541 engine, 18 hp, 597cc. It doesn't have a fuel pump. It does have the electric shut off on the bottom of the carb. This is energized to the on position, when the power is removed it closes. But I did have a LOT of fuel in the engine.

The solenoid on the carb does not control fuel coming into the carb bowl.
When you turn off the key, it only blocks fuel already in the carb bowl from going up the main jet to prevent backfire (haha!).
Fuel can still enter the bowl if the needle/seat is bad or crap in the bowl may be inhibiting float movement.

The fuel comes into the bowl through the needle/seat then, when the shutoff is open, up into the throat of the carb. If the shut off is closed fuel can't get into the throat of the carb then into the engine. So essentially the solenoid is in fact shutting the fuel off from going into the engine.
Taking the bowl off the carb didn't reveal and crud in the carb.

A. The plunger tip on the shutoff solenoid is a metal plug that closes off the passage of the main jet, which is also made of metal. Good enough of a seal to do a momentary job of stopping fuel to prevent backfire, but hardly what I would consider an absolute seal.

B. Even if the plunger could stop all fuel flow up the main, there are other passages up to the throat. So if the float chamber is flooded the fuel will get up to the throat anyway.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
