Default 1200 front axle

On my new purchase, I have lots of slop front to back at my axle pivot point. The axle is moving on the pivot. Anyone have any input?

Remove the axle and put the "squeeze" on the C channel and/or shim it back tight.
Was the pivot pin. .75", in good shape from end to end?
Make sure it is getting lube through the grease fitting.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I have not disassembled it yet. I did a search and came across a bunch of threads having trouble with stuck pins. I haven't been in there yet, does the pin rotate or is it fixed? Can it be turned over?

Pin is held stationary with a spiral pin. The pin being stuck in the axle is bad. Then the spiral pin is broken and the pivot is moving in the frame bushings causing wear. DAMHIK. If the axle is moving front to back on the pivot then that’s not the problem.

So then you agree its probably the "C" channel widened through use and abuse? Should I be able to flip the pin 180°s?

Yes but that won't help the back and forth movement, especially if the bushings are worn, loose or, in the case of the rear one, even missing!!
Have seen that before as well.

Yes probably C channel. Don’t know if there would be any benefit to flipping the pivot but can be done.

My thinking with flipping the pivot, would be the wear should be on the bottom/load bearing side.

you can use a 1/2" bolt & nut to squeeze the c-channel back together. do this while you have the engine out

Better if using a 3/4" bolt.
Will take a LOT of torque to bring it back into spec.
