Default Generator pulley nut
Hello,

I bought a new generator and when putting the pulley on I used an impact driver to tighten the pulley nut. As you can guess I over tightened it and pushed what I believe is the bearing down the shaft so the pully now rubs the generator.

Can this be remedied or is the generator trashed.

You prolly forgot to put the spacer on the shaft before you put the pulley on and tightened it up

Or maybe the pulley on backwards.... it may have an offset.

I would look up on the parts diagram to see if indeed there was a washer. Investigate which way the pulley, goes by paint, dirt or, only fits one way, or look at another tractor. My memory is getting such I take a picture, or mark the part. We all do it. I think you should be able to save it. Easy on the torque. Good luck, hope it works out for you.
