| Are all the narrow frame hoods the same?

I am restoring (ever so slowly) a 100, but I also picked up a 70, and today a 123 hydro. Plus somehow ended up with a hydro rear and frame. I dont know how this stuff keeps multiplying..... Anyway, the 123 hood is the best one and I was wondering (without taking them off and lining them up), if the NF hoods are all the same or not.

Click on the Tab at the top of the page that says "Cub Cadet Parts & Service Lookup". Enter the model(s) you want parts listings for. Note the Hood part number for each model. Then compare to see what fits and are the same.

Thanks for reminding me about that link, however for my 100, the hood is listed as N/A with no part number shown...

Do you guys have any idea what it costs to tool up and produce a part like this and bring it to market?? Do you expect them to give these away? I think this would be a bargain. Compare that to what it would cost for a body shop guy to clean up an old, dented rusty one and install a new cross brace to replace a cracked one. Geesh!! |

I said too much for MY project, not too much for the part. My 100 is a "fix up, paint, and use" not for show - although the nicer it comes out the better. But its a runner. If I were building a show tractor, then that would be a great hood to buy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
