Default rims and tires 127
Well I bought a set of rims for my 127 that are 12 x 8. I have a set of new tru powers 23 x 10.5 for them. The wheels are blasted and painted with a gun with cub cadet paint. I was looking at them, and they are stamped Firestone on the inside of the rim and also I think they are the wrong color. They are cream color, kinda off white and the ones on my cub look kinda bright white. Anyone have any info on the rim, and the original rim color for the 127 cun from 1971? Here are some pics. The rims are a slight bit darker that the pictures show.

They looks fine to me.

Paint fades over the years, it happens so slow that the new paint always look a shade off just because you are so used to the old paint.

I believe Firestone was contracted out by IH to manufacture the rims, because my 123 from '67 were the same way. The reason that the color appears different is because it is different. In either 1968 or 1969, IH changed the cub cadet color scheme of it's white to more of a true, brighter white. My model 73 has the bright white also and it was made somewhere between '69 to '71. Someone has put the older rims and tires on your cub at some point in the past and done something else with the original ones. The correct color schemes are listed in the technical library of this forum for you to review. You still have original IH equipment, just from a different year and model.

Also, the True Power Lugs are a great tire and I think you will really like the looks of them on your cub, but if you mount them on the 8's then they will bulge out a bit on the sides, which will arch the tread and will not give you the performance that it would if you put them on the 10.5's that are already on your 127!! You won't notice it until your in the snow or an incline. The whole purpose of putting the ag tires on is for grip, which you will sacrifice a bit on the 8's!!! Just something to think about.

BTW: Your rims do look sharp!!

the rims on my 127 are the 8.5" ones. Actually carlile suggets the 7 inch rim for the 23 x 10.5.... I called them but they said the 8.5 are great too so I mounted them today.
