Default 1650 Solenoid Went Bad. I have one wire that I forgot.

Solenoid went bad. So I took old one off then got CC replacement. When I went to put wires back. I have a tan wire I'm not sure where it goes. The eyelet will not fit a 5/16 bolt.Should have taking a picture. I have factory wiring schematic. The tan wire isnt shown near solenoid. Tractor runs fine. Mower etc. I checked wire for voltage in run position nothing. Can someone help me? I've learned to take a picture and write it down. Duh. Thanks.

IF.........Your wiring is original and un-molested, there are two small gauge wires that connect to the Starter Solenoid.

* An Orange Wire that comes from the Brake Pedal Switch, which supplies the power for engagement to the small stud.

* An Red/White Wire that goes to Amp Gauge which is connected to the Large Terminal going to Battery + cable.

That's the same schematic I have. Yes, PTO works fine. Only thing I noticed was the amp gauge was reading Discharged with brand new battery. Ran fine cutting grass for 2 hours. It restarted fine. The only terminal it could fit would be the small solenoid terminal. Wires eyelet is shiny. I'm kicking myself for not labeling when I took it off. I tried to visually trace it but wires are bundled. Next would be using meter. Maybe some was in there before me, as tractor was not taken care of, just used when I got it.

Thanks guys.

Check that the small red/white wire from the amp meter is going to the same heavy lug as the battery cable and not the one from the starter.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
