I'm installing brand new harness on my 124 and i got everything nealy routed to where they suppose to go and I'm stuck with the headlight wiring. Where is the wire suppose to route to the switch? Do I have wrong switch installed by the previous owner? I tried to test the headlight to see if they are working. Is the tractor suppose to be running for the lights to come on?

Is your switch located on the left side of the dash tower? Shoot us a pic of your switch.

Lights should be able to come "on" even with key switched off. The wire to switch should be coming off the negative terminal of the amp meter.....based on wiring diagram. The meter will show a draw (discharge) when lights are on.

According to the Owner's Manual, the Light Switch is located on the LH of the Dash Tower. See attachment.
The Light Switch is independent of the Ignition Switch.

There's the light switch assembly terminal pointing down instead of out the circle hole if that how the original supposed to be.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
