All CC built machines have some collect-ability. Some of the more collectible or rarer cubs include Originals, 70's, 126, 128 and 169. The 126 and 169 had the fewest produced I believe. In any event, you should just collect the ones you like the most. They all have the fun value!

I think the 0's and the series with the round fenders are sought after. The best looking IMHO.

From my personal experience, the most desired Cubs are the IH built models. That would be pre 1981.
You collect the Series that you like.

Here is a list of the rarest models: https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=23710
IMO, IH built tractors are more collectible, especially the narrow frames (pre 1971).

For me the only one I have been able to collect is my 1862, that's because
I believe it might have been the only one in MT when I found it. At least it seems that way. I do all my collecting by looking at the pics of you guys tractors. Ken |

Which one to collect????? I collect 70-100s and the Wide Frame Cub Cadets because I like the way they look. I have an IH Cub Cadet 70 that has been in my Wife's family since it was new. I have an IH Cub Cadet 149 that the motor was in several boxes that my Son, Dad and myself made into a runner. Bottom line......collect the style you like. ![]() ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
