Default 149 Hyd Lift Prob

Hey guys snow throwing this morning everything was going great. raised the blower up went to put it back down and it won't go down. Tried to go up and won't go higher either.checked the obvious things and at a loss. Could low hytran cause the cyl to not move? I did not have time to take of the tunnel to look at thing yet... just thought it was goofy that everything worked great and then bam it doesn't move

Check the up-down stop on the side of the frame near your right foot,
Maybe it has loosened and fallen down enough to limit travel.
Best to remove it for snow plow operation. Make sure your shoes are adjusted, I usually run mine to allow about 3/16" to 1/4" clearance.

I don't think Fluid level would not have anything to do with it.
Almost have to be a mechanical issue in the linkage or lift

I thought that might be the problem as well but it was not in the way. The thing is it is stuck up about 3 inches! It can go about 4 inches higher but won't move up or down

I'd take it to the garage, place a 2x4 or some support under the snow thrower. Shut the tractor off and release the lift rod for the thrower from the lift arm of the tractor. Then restart the tractor and see if the lift arm moves with the up and down position of the hydro lift. This will help you to determine whether it is a tractor problem or perhaps something wrong with the thrower (froze up in its position). Then proceed to further diagnose the problem.

finsruskw you were right! the knob was tight but the arm was wedged between the frame and the bracket. I however think I broke the dowel that allows the arm to raise the thrower should have it fixed tonight!

You will need a 5/16" spirol pin, or in a pinch a bolt will temporarily work, but it needs to be tight.
If you let the hole get worn by continued use of a bolt, a spirol pin will probably not stay in.
Glad you found the problem.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
