Default Just picked up my first 149

I found this in my local classifieds. The poor girls front axle is snapped shes dirty and leaking gas from the carb. The carb is most likely the float. I have a axle sitting on the shelf and the power washer should clean her up pretty good. Came with wheel weights, 42" deck that seems pretty tight and has hydraulic lift. Not to bad for $25. I got the motor pulled today so just have to get the deck off so I can slap the new axle under the girl also picked up a carb kit today.

Wow!! I can't believe you picked it up for just $25!!! And with those wheel weights, too. I really enjoy the power behind my 149--only had it 3 wks so far and the lift is a great luxery. You might think about putting the correct muffler on it while you're at it. Great find....glad you got it!

I have a stock muffler on my shelf that came off my 129 that I plan on putting on it. I don't know why people put those junk little things on these tractors.

i think they usually snap because the pto belt wears grooves into the axle and makes them week so if you bumb something they snap.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
