An 1812 would be a good place to start.

The 318 Deere is one, if not thee best, Gt's ever built in my humble opinion.

I think an 1864 would be a closer pic.

Agreed.

Without going to a Cub Cadet super, CCC didn't really build anything that compares.

The 318 had power steering, dual brakes, 3pt hitch and rear PTO optional. Rear hydraulics optional. Separate controls for front and then mid and rear were together. I don't recall them ever offering it with triple stick, but it's an easy conversion to do. Either way, CCC didn't offer a GT with those options. The only thing that compares is a Cub Cadet SGT. So, if you take that into consideration, you have to look for a Super. The Deere 318 was the ultimate GT. I know this is a Cub site, but that particular model of machine just didn't really have any competition in the same size without going with a larger machine. 1864 with dual remotes, ps, rear 3pt is the closest you can come in a GT.

FWIW I just picked one up about a month ago and I agree. Made well, same hydro as our Cubs, 18 Onan is powerful, loader capable with the model 44, although VERY expensive to get and for that matter find one, big spindles, dual front outlets, hydraulic oil coolers, etc. I won't put it over anymore either. I know it's better but I would trade mine for a 782 or 982 just because I want one and the JD looks odd amongst all the yellow and white

I am a cub cadet fan all the way dad had a 318 with over 3500 hours on it when it left and it still was running. Seems like when people do sell them it's for a lot of money

318s are nice. I ran one as a kid that my dad had. I imagine he'd still have it today if it wasn't for a reccomended mechanic picking it up at his house to fix something on it and then skipping town with it never to be heard from again! Fast forward 25 yrs or so and I wouldn't trade either of my IH 782 with a series II Kohler or 982 with the Onan for one, especially with all the stuff I got on them now

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
