Default Hello from Ohio

Hi everyone I recently started to restore my 1968 red tractor I bought back in the late 80's & got the fever bad. I had to have a Cub so I saw this on CL. It's a 1978 1250 Hydro with a 12hp Kohler. It also has hydraulic lift, snow blade & 44" mowing deck. The PO owner said it ran very well two weeks ago but couldn't get it to start. I had to have it at the price of $250 regardless. He excepted my offer of $185. I found a broken governor cross shaft. I probably won't be able to fix until winter because of having a shoulder joint replacement surgery in early August. I'm sure I'll enjoy tagging along with everyone else until then I can contribute my project.

If it ever stops raining I'll take some better picks & start a new post of my future 1250 project. Thanks for looking!

Sawdust,

That 1250 is an awesome find. I wish Cubs were that cheap in Missouri. I cant find a snow blade that cheap here and you got the tractor and two attachments. Well done...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
